It can be said that prior to 2007, mga underbone at business/commuter bikes lang talaga ang nagdo-dominate sa motorcycle scene sa bansa kaya naman Yamaha offered something new and refershing to its customers, creating waves across the country in the process. This was when Yamaha Motor Philippines released the Yamaha MIO line of scooters.

Why Is the Yahama MIO Considered Number One?

Among the "Big Four" Japanese manufacturers, Yamaha was the last one to have it's own subsidiary, kung baga branch, dito sa Pilipinas. Pero despite having it's subsidiary company Yamaha Motor Philippines only established in 2007, Yamaha actually pioneered the automatic scooter industry in the country and created a demand for it, just like that! This was the Yamaha MIO.

Bakit nga ba naging number one ang Yamaha Mio para sa mga Pilipino?

• Is spare parts availability not an issue?

  No, it's not an issue at all. Spare parts are literrally available almost everywhere at makakahanap ka kaagad ng pyesa sa suking tindahan. Parts are usually cheap, too, dahil na rin sa dami ng stocks, hindi katulad ng ibang scooter models na mahirap hanapin yung parts at kailangan pang orderin which would mean na kailangan mong mag hintay ng matagal. This is not the case for the Yamaha MIO kaya kahit used or repo unit pa, wala ng magiging problema kung gusto ming kabitan ng bago lahat.

• Are Yamaha MIOs easy to use and pratical?

  Yes, Yamaha MIO scooters are very user friendly and cheap to maintain kaya napaka praktikal. While meron namang high-end at high-tech models kagaya nalang ng MIO Soul i125, at MIO Gravis, yung pinaka base model nya - the Yamaha MIO sporty, is just the right scooter when it comes to simplicity, function, and practicality. Walang masyadong mga high-tech na abubot kaya less eletronic parts to worry about, and it's not wrong to say that this motorcycle can practically last forever if given the right care and maintenance! Mas lalong praktikal kung second hand or  repossed unit ang kukunin dahil sa laki ng magiging savings mo compared to brand new.

• Are Yamaha MIOs durable and reliable?

  Absolutely yes! While this is a very touchy topic since the Yamaha MIO is a very popular platform for upgrades and modifications - yung tipong binubutingting talaga nga mga enthusiasts, the MIO line of scooters are extremely durable and very reliable, too, given na it remains stock at walang masyadong modifications, lalo na sa makina. More importantly, hindi rin dapat kalimutan ang maintenance dahil katuwang yan sa reliability and longevity ng isang motorsiklo, so yes, proper maintenance is the key!

• Does the MIO line of scooters have good aftermarket support?

  Yes it does, at dito panalo ang Yamaha MIO as there are absolutely tons and tons of accessories and aftermarket parts out there. Marami kang pagpipilian - from power pipes to wheel sets, and even big bore kits for added power! Almost every accessory that you can imagine is easily available and accessible in the Philippine market. Kung mahilig ka naman sa online shopping ay talagang mapapaorder ka nalang ng todo dahil a good variety of options are available, not to mention affordable and cheap.

• Does the MIO line of scooters offer a good variety of models to choose from?

  Yes, the Yamaha MIO does has a good number of variants to choose from. Kung gusto mo ng simple, basic yet very practical, then ang MIO Sporty na variant ang para sa'yo. If you are looking into getting something that is more modern, trendy and still pratical, then there's the Yamaha MIO i125. Kung trip mo naman yung medyo high-tech and futuristic, then the MIO Gravis or MIO Soul i125 are the MIO motorcycle variants for you. Pili ka nalang, or bili ka ng dalawa and you'll never notice that these scooters share the same exact platform and DNA, well in a sense, dahil each variant has it's own defining characterestic.
